Type of service requests

Types of Service Requests

Whether it's a special dinner party, prepaid gift, or week-long culinary adventure, every service request opens doors to new opportunities for chefs.

1. Single Services

These are one-off events like anniversary celebrations or dinner parties. Your proposal should include a menu, a pricing quote (including the cost of raw materials and your service), and any extra services.

Menu Proposals for Single Services

You have two options: create a new menu or modify a pre-set menu.

  • Creating a menu from scratch: Click 'Send Proposal', choose 'New Menu', add dishes aligned with guest preferences, indicate choices per course, set the price, and send.
  • Selecting from Pre-Set Menus: Click 'Send Proposal', go to ‘Include menu from my menus’, select an option, modify dishes/prices if needed, and send.
Chef's Tip: Use the category filter on your dashboard for easier navigation and prioritization of your requests.
Modifying Single Service Proposals
  • Modifying the menu: Click 'Manage', make changes (remove/change dishes), and click the yellow "Send Proposal" button.
  • Modifying the price: Click 'Manage', scroll to "Prices", make adjustments, and click the yellow "Send Proposal" button.
  • Adding extras: Click 'Manage', scroll to "Extras", add/remove items, and click the yellow "Send Proposal" button.
2. Prepaid Services

In prepaid services, clients submit requests and receive three proposals. Since payment has been made in advance, the selected chef can proceed immediately.

  • Gifts: Identify these by the fixed number of guests and budget disclaimer. The recipient uses a code to redeem.
  • Vouchers: Identify these by the fixed price and diners. Always check the "Take a Chef Notes" section for instructions.
3. Multiple Services

A client might need you for several meals over a day or a week. For these, you’re quoting for your time and skills. Important: Clients pay you directly for groceries.

Chef's Tip: Always keep grocery receipts to present to the client. If you're not sure if a service is single or multiple, check if you’re able to send a menu proposal. If you can send a menu proposal, then it’s a single service.
Proposals for Multiple Services

Your quote should include expenses like your time, number of meals, and staff, but exclude raw materials.

  1. Click 'Send Proposal'.
  2. Check the list of services and number of days.
  3. Set your price (expenses + time + staff).
  4. Click the disclaimer box "The price does not include the cost of raw materials."
  5. Ensure price is a round number (no decimals).
  6. Send your proposal.
Receipts: Scan or photograph high-quality receipts as soon as possible to load them and add their cost to the final value of the service.
4. Partner Services

Take a Chef collaborates with businesses aiming to offer chef services to their customers. Partner services can help you grow your network and increase requests.

How to identify them: Pay attention to the pop-up message that displays the partner commission rate (8% to 20%) and notifies you that it is a partner service.
